I’ve been Team Lead of a small development team for a few months now. The product and team were new to me at the start as well as the role. It took a while to feel confident in my ability to deliver a quality product and maintain a happy team.

While I’m still digesting the recent (and awesome) codemania conference I thought I’d share my notes taken during the talks.

Last post I introduced the FuguPass password encryption script. In this post I’m going to go over the encryption scheme used which is based on RSA Laboratories PKCS #5: Password-Based Cryptography Standard.

Deciding to resurrect my Mythbox I can a quick sudo mythfilldatabase and then checked mythweb to see what was in the listings. Not surprisingly I was greeted with a rather plain error page indicating a server error occurred while trying to process my request. Oh well, at least something was running.

FuguPass is a Google app script that uses the Blowfish encryption algorithm (implementation from the Barnses Storming blog) to store encrypted passwords in a Google Drive Spreadsheet.
